Leon H. Herkes

Leon H. Herkes, age 81, of Picayune passed away

Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Gulf State LTAC-Slidell.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 8th

at 10:00 a.m. at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel

with Bro. Danny Johnson officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, August 7th from 6-9 p.m.

at Picayune Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Leon was a native of New Orleans, LA, the Chief Quality

Control Engineer at Martin-Marietta, and

a U.S. Navy World War II Veteran.

He is survived by

his wife, Ethel Herkes of Picayune

son, Leon H. Herkes, Jr. of Picayune

two daughters, Anna Bordelon of Picayune

Cheryl Caro of Geismar, LA

sister, Leah Perniciaro of Louisiana

five grandchildren

five great-grandchildren

He is preceded in death by

his parents, Leon A. Herkes and Leah Herkes;

brother, Warren Herkes and

a grandchild
