Alvy Irene Strickland

June 6, 1918 – December 24, 2008

Alvy Irene Strickland, age 90, formerly of Picayune

passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at

Woodland Village Nursing Center in Diamondhead, MS.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 26th

at 2:00 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel,

with Bro. Oren Spence officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, December 26th from 12:00 noon

until time of service at Picayune Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Lee’s Chapel #2 Cemetery,

under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.

She is survived by

her son, Lonnie J. (Debra) Strickland of Jacksonville, FL;

daughter-in-laws, Helen Varnado and Joan Saunders;

sisters, Iceebelle Morgan of Midway, TX,

Eloise King of Livingston, TX and

Lavern Atwell of Dallas, TX;

five grandchildren,

seven great-grandchildren and

three great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by

her parents, Pierce and Lena Walker;

husband, L.V. Strickland;

sons, Vaiden E. Strickland and

Lonnie E. Strickland;

brother, E. J. Walker; and

sisters, Essie Cobb, Arnette Horn and Jackie Tyler.
