Ida Mae Leitner Sabelhaus Pearson

January 31, 1929 – June 3, 2008

 

Ida Mae Leitner Sabelhaus Pearson, a native of Indiana and a resident

of Carriere, Mississippi, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2008

at Highland Community Hospital in Picayune after a lengthy illness. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Leitner, and

two brothers, Ralph E. Leitner and David T. Leitner.

 

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, June 5th at 10:00 AM

at Central Baptist Church, with Bro. Billy Galloway officiating.

 

She was a lifetime member of the Crosby Hospital Auxiliary and

had many friends in the Picayune and Carriere community.

 

She had been a NASA Program Analyst for over 25 years

at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, and

also had been employed by Lockheed at the Stennis Space Center

after her NASA retirement.

 

Her first love and husband of 42 years, Cecil N. Sabelhaus, preceded her in death;

three sons survive, namely, Ralph Sabelhaus of Tucson, Arizona,

Ronald Sabelhaus of Memphis, Tennessee and

Shawn Sabelhaus of Jennings, Louisiana. 

There are six grandchildren and

three great grandchildren. 

Survivors also include several cousins,

nieces and nephews.

 

She is survived by

her second husband of 20 years,

Lemuel A. Pearson of Carriere, Mississippi and

a number of stepchildren,

step-grandchildren and

step-great-grandchildren.
