Walter Clifton Bennett, Sr.

July 27, 1931 – February 3, 2008

Walter C. Bennett, Sr., age 76, of Picayune passed away

Sunday, February 3, 2008 at Gulf States LTAC, in Slidell, LA.

The funeral service will be held

Wednesday, February 6th at 12 noon at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel,

with Bro. John P. Smith and Bro. Robert Osbourn officiating.

Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 6th from 11:00 AM

until time of service at Picayune Funeral Home.

Walter, a lifelong resident of Picayune, was a diesel mechanic

at Arizona Chemical Company and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

He is survived by

his wife, Carolyn Bennett of Picayune;

five sons, Walter Bennett, Jr. of Picayune,

Shean Bennett of Picayune,

Larry Bennett of Baton Rouge, LA,

Henry Bennett of Picayune and

Keith Bennett of Slidell, LA;

four daughters, Summer Bennett of Picayune,

Desie Poston of Gretna, LA,

Dodie Bennett of Belle Chase, LA and

Dana Bennett of Belle Chase, LA;

step-daughter, Leigh Stockstill of Picayune;

step-son, Douglas McClain of Picayune;

brother, Joseph Wayne Bennett of Fort Worth, TX;

fifteen grandchildren; and

ten great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by

a sister, Charlene Alsobrooks.
