John Edward Smith

February 8, 1962 – January 23, 2007

John Edward Smith, age 44, died Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Picayune, MS.

The funeral service will be held Friday, January 26, 2007, at 12 noon at First Baptist

Church of Picayune with Rev. Paul Thigpen officiating at the service, assisted by

Rev. Arlis Grice and Dr. Keith Warden. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 25, 2007, from 6-9 PM

at Picayune Funeral Home.

John Edward, a resident of Picayune, was self-employed in construction and

a U.S. Army veteran. He was also a member of Goodyear Baptist Church.

He is survived by:

his mother, Marie Smith, Picayune, MS;

one son, Kyle Maurice Smith, Picayune, MS;

three daughters, Lacy Elaine Smith, Picayune, MS,

Katrina Lynn Smith, Picayune, MS, and Jennifer Christian Smith, Picayune, MS;

five brothers, Maurice L. Smith, Jr., Picayune, MS, Arlie Otis Smith, Picayune, MS,

Forrest Smith, Kaplan, LA, Steve Smith, Picayune, MS,

and James Michael Smith, Picayune, MS; and

one sister, Martha Kaye Smith, Picayune, MS.

He is preceded in death by his father, Maurice L. Smith, Sr.
