Veta (Ms. V.) Delaune Marchand

Veta Delaune Marchand, age 62, of Poplarville,

passed away on her birthday, Friday, August 10, 2007 at her residence.

The funeral service will be Monday, August 13th at 10:00 a.m.

at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 12, 2007 from 6-9 pm

at Picayune Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery & Mausoleum

under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home

Veta moved from St. Bernard parish to Mississippi nine years ago.

She was casino attendant at Diamond Jubilee and a Catholic.

She is survived by:

her husband: Joseph Marchand of Poplarville;

two sons: Roger L. Watkins, Jr., of Poplarville, Mississippi and

Calvin C. Atkinson, Jr. of Poplarville, Mississippi;

three daughters: Sheila Watkins Watras of Clinton, Mississippi,

Diane Marie Maguire of Carriere, Mississippi, and

Charlotte Atkinson Sones of Poplarville, Mississippi;

her brother: Everett Evans;

two sisters: Catherine Lightell and

Elizabeth LynVille;

eight grandchildren: David Merwin, Brent Watkins,

Kyle Cawby, Danielle Barnes, Garry Maguire,

Katelyn Atkinson, Logan Bailey, and Hope Miller;

four great-grandchildren: Jazmine Merwin,

Savannah Merwin, Katelynn Cawby, and Tyler Watkins and

many loving and cherished nieces,

nephews and many, many friends.

She is preceded in death by

her father, Eugene Delaune and

mother, Hilda Nichols Delaune.

We will all miss you, until me meet again you are and

always will truly be our hero.
