Elton Deon Smith Ekornes, age 29, of Carriere,

died on Friday, November 16, 2007,

in Carriere, Mississippi.

Funeral Service will be

Tuesday, November 20th at 11:00 a.m.

at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel,

with Bro. Arlis Grice officiating.

Visitation is Monday, November 19th,

6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home.

Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery.

Elton was a lifetime resident of Pearl River County

and a member of Goodyear Baptist Church.

He is survived by

his mother, Martha Kaye Ekornes Smith of Carriere;

his grandmother, Vonnie Marie Smith of Picayune,

two brothers: Jason Hobgood, wife Bobbie Jean, of Ocean Springs and

Pete Hobgood, wife Rebecca, of McNeill;

one sister: Tanya Hobgood Ladner of Carriere;

five nieces: Victoria Lynn Hobgood, Abigail Alise Hobgood,

Alexis Kaylene Hobgood, Sarah Joann Hobgood, and Laken Skye Pearson;

three nephews: Timothy Garrett Rasco,

Gabriel Aiden Hobgood and little Jason Alexander Hobgood;

fiancée: Gina Adams of Carriere;

several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by

his grandfather, Maurice L. Smith, Sr.,

his father, Johnny Ekornes,

his brother, Timothy Paul Smith and

uncle, John Edward Smith.
