Rose Ellen (Ginger) Crowell

February 28, 1929 – August 21, 2007

 

Rose Ellen (Ginger) Crowell, age 78,

died Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at her residence in  Carriere.  

 

Funeral services will be held at Union Baptist Church

on Friday, August 24th  at 1:30 PM,

with Bro. Buddy Sheriff officiating. 

 

Visitation will be Thursday, August 23rd from 6-9 PM

at Picayune Funeral Home. 

 

Burial will be at Union Baptist Cemetery,

under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.

 

Ginger, born in Gridley, California, was the head dietician at

Placentia-Linda Hospital in Placentia, CA. 

While living in Gardena, CA, she was a member of the

Daughters of the Rebeccas and on the Civic Council. 

After retirement, she moved to this area and

was a member of Union Baptist Church, involved in T.O.P.S.

and the Busy Bees Homemaker Club where she was the Treasurer. 

Ginger loved people and animals and was involved

in all aspects of community service. 

She touched many lives with words of love and care.

 

She is survived by

four sons, Larry E. Hinkle of Palm Springs, CA,

Robert Skip Crowell of Gardner, KS,

Dan Crowell of Slidell, LA and

 James Wesley Crowell of Carriere, MS;

three daughters, Paula Ford of Pollock Pines, CA,

Jeri Pinkston of Palestine, TX and

Lois Dossett of Carriere, MS;

two brothers, Harry Greenwood of Chico, CA and

John Greenwood of Roseville, CA;

one sister, Marie Johnson of Oregon;

nineteen grandchildren; and

thirty-four great-grandchildren.

 

She is preceded in death by

her husband, Robert Wesley Crowell.
