Johnnie H. Burks, 82, of Carriere died Friday, August 31, 2007

at Slidell Memorial Hospital in Slidell, LA.

The funeral services will be held Sunday, September 2nd at 3 PM

at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Alan Hickman officiating,

assisted by Bro. John Thomas.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 1st from 7-9 PM

at Picayune Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Henleyfield Cemetery,

under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.

Johnnie was a self-employed contractor, a member of Resurrection Life Church

and a U. S. Army veteran, where he was a former P.O.W.

He is survived by

two sons, Charles R. Burks of Henleyfield, MS and

Randy E. Burks of Bogalusa, LA;

one sister, Nellie Mae Thomas of Bogue Chitto, MS;

grandchild, Brandon Shane Burks;

step-grandchild, Scott McLemore; and

two step-great grandchildren, Madeline McLemore and

Joshua McLemore.

He is preceded in death by

his parents, Charles Burks and Nellie Wise Burks;

his wife, Eloise Wise Burks; and

three brothers, Charles E. Burks,

Joseph C. Burks and

Billy Burks.
